About
Anne Holtzclaw Clinical Herbalist & RN
Worker Bee of Nurse & Nettle
I am a trained clinical herbalist in practice since 2024, a registered nurse with over 15 years of clinical experience, and a lifelong student of the healing wisdom held in people and plants and our mother, Earth. I use my background in the science of Western medicine and the intuitive, time-honored practices of earth-based plant medicine, to offer home-based care that is gentle, grounded, and whole-person focused.
I am of Norwegian and German ancestry, fifth generation and I use those roots to practice a grounded in a way of life that embraced herbal medicine, seasonal cycles, and natural healing; while also believing in the use of antibiotics or pharmaceutical medicine when necessary.
I created Nurse & Nettle Natural Healing Services to offer care that mirrors those values — deeply rooted, quietly powerful, guided by connection. Like the mycorrhizal networks beneath our feet that support and nourish life unseen, I aim to be a steady, nourishing presence for those in need of healing and support. I look forward to working with you.
Land Acknowledgment
As a clinical herbalist practicing in the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis, I humbly acknowledge this land is the ancestral homeland of the Očhéthi Šakówiŋ and Wahpekute peoples. The Dakota have cared for this land and its plant medicines for generations. This land was taken through violence and broken treaties, including the Treaty of 1851. I recognize the ongoing presence, resilience, and wisdom of Indigenous communities in Minnesota and beyond. Herbalism is rooted in traditional knowledge, much of which comes from Indigenous peoples who have long understood the healing relationships between people, plants, and place. I honor those traditions and strive to practice in a way that is respectful, relational, and committed to ongoing learning and accountability. I respect the traditions and practices of those who lived here first, and I practice from a Norwegian/German use of plants available both there and here in Minnesota. I am grateful to live and work on this land, and I commit to supporting Indigenous sovereignty, land rematriation, and healing justice in my practice. Credit to: https://native-land.ca
